Chemin de Fer
France
Arles, Summer Night, 2012
Images excerpt from a night stroll in Camargue.
The series Chemin de fer displays a sequence of shots, a formal evocation of an editorial layout, except for some overlapping images, as if to keep trace of the preceding one(s). When scrolling through the images, one after the other, some resist while others are used as simple patches, reminding of cinema and its use of the photographic image as biding material. On the boundary between city and country, between degree of clairvoyance and state of drunkenness, the photographs are pushed to the limits of their materiality. Vision has lost its landmarks in the darkness.
