Lake Anosy is in the center of Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar. With time and because of many political crises causing endemic poverty, it has become home to the so-called Quatre mi, the poorest people in Antananarivo. Rakely means “small man” in Malagasy language. He has been living on the lake for so long that he has talked at least once with every single dweller around. His day starts at sunrise and is interspersed with toaka gasy – a strong homemade rum – to escape in dreams that are too hot… too slow…
